NC Equine LLC is owned and operated by Nicole Cammuso.  We are based out of Spring Hollow Farm in Plum, Pennsylvania.  NC Equine offers boarding and sales.  Nicole is a 2008 graduate of The Ohio State University, where she earned an AS degree in Horse Science and a BS degree in Animal Science.  In addition to running NC Equine, Nicole has worked in the veterinary field, which helps to further her equine health knowledge.  When she finds the time to compete on her own personal horses, she enjoys barrel racing and cowboy mounted shooting.

After years of training horses of all kinds, including (but not limited to) breaking horses, fixing problem horses, and finishing horses, Nicole found a niche and passion in retraining off the track thoroughbreds.  She got her first OTTB in 2014, a mare named Diabolic.  She entered Di in the 2015 RRP Thoroughbred Makeover, and spent 2015 retraining her to become an all around, well rounded horse who was proficient in barrel racing and obstacle trail challenges.  Di ended up placing second in barrel racing and 4th in freestyle at the event.  The trainability of Di got Nicole hooked on the breed, and the number of OTTBs coming through our program grows each year!  We are now focusing on creating handy mounts for polo players and barrel racers, but our horses seem to have no limits to the disciplines they end up succeeding in.  Check our sold section to see our past horses!

The Crew

Shelby GT

Shelby is a grade-QH mare in early 20's.  Nicole rescued Shelby from a kill pen in 2010.  She was a burned out barrel horse with some major issues, but with time, she decompressed and blossomed into an amazing partner.  She has won money sorting cows, became a competitive mounted shooting horse, and was an obstacle judged trail ride champion.  She is now retired from riding, but has the very important job of raising Nicole's youngsters into her own gritty likeness.

I Make Moolah Moves

Bugatti is a 2018 AQHA filly bred by 4M Performance Horses.  She was hand selected by Nicole for the exceptional minds and athletics of her sire Dash of Moolah and dam Hancock Bit Of Pine.  Bugatti shows promise in a variety of directions, but her main direction is to become a mounted shooting horse.

Chicks Flying By

1991 AQHA mare.  Chicks was Nicole's first horse.  Nicole trained Chicks to barrel race, and Chicks trained Nicole of how to be a better horsewoman.  Chicks continued to do light showing and gave riding lessons into her early 20's.  Chicks was laid to rest in June 2018, but will never be forgotten.  She is the original dark mare & founding member of Nicole's #darkmaresociety, and the reason Nicole has a soft spot for dark mares!
