Sinner was purchased as my 2016 RRP Thoroughbred Makeover horse for barrel racing, but a month before the competition we had to scratch. She continued barrel training with me as my personal horse. I realized she had talent in other disciplines as well, so I sent her to eventing trainer Amanda Wilson for 45 days to learn some jumping basics, and she flourished. Making the choice to sell her was not an easy one to make, but I didn't want her talents wasted.
Sinner is now starting a career in eventing with new owner Jessica!
Muffy has been the smallest OTTB I have come to train, standing at only 14.3hh! She fit the mold for a polo horse. I put a strong handle on Muffy, and she was sold as a polo prospect to a training program in Alabama.
Diabolic was purchased as a resale horse, and was used as my 2015 Retired Racehorse Project's Thoroughbred Makeover horse. This training competition showcases recently retired OTTBs who spend less than a year training in a discipline of choice. Diabolic ended up 2nd in barrel racing and 4th in freestyle! Diabolic was even a High Point Champion Judged Obstacle Trail horse in 2015.
She is now continuing a career in barrel racing with her new owner Evie!
Tilly was a HUS and Dressage horse before coming to NC Equine and getting turned into a stellar barrel horse! She was starting to climb the 2D division, with all the talent in the world to finish in the 1D. Marcy & Tilly have been winning checks and have even entered their first rodeo!
Bebe was started by me as a 4yr old and was super easy to break and train. Very athletic and light to ride. She suffered a kick to the leg, leaving her only light riding/broodmare sound, so she was sold to a barrel racing breeding program.
Bebe has been producing some cute little future barrel horses!
